A-Pop is the upcoming second studio album by South African singer Tyla. It is set to be released in 2026.
Background
Tyla announced her highly anticipated sophomore album during the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on 1 February 2026. A-Pop is slated for release in the US summer of 2026 and promises a more mature and personal sound compared to her self-titled debut album, reflecting her growth as an artist living the experiences she sings about. Tyla revealed the details while accepting the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance for her 2024 single “Push 2 Start“, marking her second win in the category after “Water” in 2024.[1] The project follows her 2025 EP WWP, which served as its bridge.[2] In a Rolling Stone interview, Tyla discussed the evolution in her mindset ahead of A-Pop. She stated: “Me being in it, I feel so different to how I felt during the first album. I’m just excited for my new one that’s coming this year. Just to see how different it is like. what’s this Tyla now?” Attributing the shift to personal growth and experience, she added: “I’ve been through stuff. I don’t know, I feel like a woman. I’m 24, it was my birthday the other day. I feel like a woman.”[3] In early April, she teased the new single “She Did It Again” featuring Zara Larsson,[4][5] which was released on April 17.
