Claire Anna Constant is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for USL Super League club DC Power FC. Born in the United States, she plays for the Haiti national team.[1] She played college soccer for the Virginia Cavaliers.

Early life

Constant was born in the United States as the eldest daughter of Haitian father Reverend Joseph Constant and an American mother.[2][3][4] She played college soccer for the women’s team of the University of Virginia.[5]

Club career

In 2023, Constant signed for Portuguese side Torreense.[6]

In July 2024, Constant was announced as a member of the inaugural roster for DC Power of the USL Super League, bringing her within thirty minutes of her childhood home.[7][8] She was named the club’s first-ever captain and starred in 19 matches as DC Power finished second-to-last in the league standings.[8] At the end of the season, the club exercised Constant’s contract option.[9] On 14 February 2026, Constant scored her first professional goal, the equalizer in a 1–1 draw with Tampa Bay Sun FC.[10]

International career

Constant was selected to United States women’s national youth team training camps five times. However, she elected to pursue playing internationally for Haiti.[11]

Constant was nicknamed “Cyborg” by her Haiti women’s national football team teammates.[4] As she helped Haiti qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the first time they qualified for the World Cup, she was regarded as a fan favorite due to her performances as a defender.[12]
