MIAMI Singer Convicted (AP) Shaggy haired James Morrison, lead singer of The Doors, has been convicted of indecent exposure and profanity during a 1969 performance before a large audience of teen-agers. A jury of three men and three women returned the verdict against the self-proclaimed “king of orgasmic rock” after a 16-day trial. Maximum sentence is eight months in jail and a $525 fine. The bearded singer declared, “This trial and its outcome won’t change my style because I maintain that I did not do anything wrong.” Witnesses said Morrison dropped his trousers during the performance. The singer’s performance sparked several campaigns against indecency, including an Orange Bowl rally by 30,000 per- sons. Morrison was freed on $50,000 bail until sentencing October 23, 1970.
