Lotharella is a genus of chlorarachid alga that includes five species.[1] It is the only genus in the family Lotharellidae.[2]

The five species in the genus are L. globosa,[3] L. oceanica,[4] L. polymorpha,[5] L. reticulosa,[6] and L. vacuolata.[7] In 2000, it was announced that a new species in the genus Lotharella was found in Japan.[8] The species was named Lotharella amoeboformis.
