Naz Baloch (Urdu: ناز بلوچ) is a Pakistani politician, member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Former Parliamentary Secretary Climate Change. She represented Pakistan at leading international forums, including the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Egypt, the Internet Governance Forum in Poland, and the U.S. Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in 2021, where she highlighted issues related to climate finance, digital governance, and resilience.

She is a prominent public figure from Pakistan, Pakistan People’s Party media face and member of the Parliamentary Standing Committees on Human Rights, Planning and Development, and Industries and Production. An alumna of the National Defence University Pakistan, having completed the National Security Workshop 2024. She is also an alumna of the International Visitor Leadership Program (2019), she previously served as Vice President of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from 2013 to 2017 and contested the NA-240 Karachi constituency in the 2013 general elections. With more than a decade of political experience, she continues to advocate for climate action, democratic reforms, and people center governance.

She was also Parliamentary Standing Committees member on Broadcast, Information, and Information Technology.

Naz Baloch belongs to the Rind Baloch tribe. She joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2011 as a young political activist. Within two years of active grassroots engagement, she was elected as the Central Vice President of PTI in May 2013 and became a member of the Central Executive Committee.

She contested the General Elections 2013 from NA-240 Karachi, a constituency considered challenging for female candidates. During the 2014 PTI dharna, she played a frontline leadership role, particularly in media coordination, which contributed to her growing public recognition.

In July 2017, Naz Baloch joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Her father, Abdullah Baloch, is a founding member of the PPP and served as a minister during the tenure of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Early life and education

She has bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Joseph’s College. Her ethnically Baloch father, Abdullah Baloch, is a high-ranking member of Pakistan Peoples Party, Ex-Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto tenure.[1]

Political career

She joined PTI in August 2011. She contested general election from Sindh for national assembly Constituency NA-240 in May 2013 as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. After getting married on 22 April 2011 she joined PTI in August 2011, turning down the option of joining the family party PPP. She is the only woman in her family to have taken part in party politics, as it is uncommon for Baloch women to take part in public affairs. On 11 May 2013, she was the only women contestant in the constituency and was the runner-up, receiving 21,094 votes.[citation needed]

On 16 July 2017, Naz Baloch joined Pakistan Peoples Party leaving her party affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.[2]
