Saint-Georges-de-Rouelley (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɔʁʒ də ʁwɛlɛ], literally Saint-Georges of Rouelley) is a commune in the Manche department in Normandy in north-western France.[3]
Geography
The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, La Prise Guimont, Jutigny, Le Sionnay, La Masure, Saint-Georges-de-Rouelley, La Giboudière, Le Theil, Chanay and Les Haies.[4]
The commune is in the Normandie-Maine Regional Natural Park.[5]
Saint-Georges-de-Rouelley shares a Natura 2000 protected area, Landes du Tertre Bizet et Fosse Arthour, with two other communes Domfront en Poiraie and Lonlay-l’Abbaye.[6]
Points of Interest
- La Fosse Arthour – is a natural tourist site featuring a 70 metre gorge.[7] It is accessible by the GR22 footpath.[8]
