Mission, and Goals on Wikipedia
Mission
My mission on Wikipedia is to make it a good place to learn and gain information thus making it duly, easy to understand, and most of all accurate and factual.
Goals
My goals are the following:
- Make Information Accurate and Factual
- Update Information
- Revert Vandalism and Spam
- Be Nice to Others
- Keep Wikipedia safe
- Keep Wikipedia “Encyclopedic”
Me & Wikipedia
Before editing
My first ever interaction with Wikipedia is somewhere in late 2018 and early 2019, I only use it back then as a source of answers for my assignments.
Then, COVID-19 hits and I’m left at home. I watch many YouTube videos back then, one of which is Drew Durnil[b], a YouTuber who plays (or watch AIs play) Hearts of Iron IV. This pique my interest in Geography, History and Geopolitics. This is the time when I often search a term on Wikipedia and mindlessly reading interesting topics. One time, I started from the World War II page and hours later I found myself at somewhere random like K-Pop.
Interest on editing
This is the time when I want to edit on Wikipedia to add something in it, but unfortunately, I use a cellular network (mobile data) to access the internet and the IP I have is range blocked. So, I cannot edit. I always found article that clearly missing an information or even a typo or a vandalism but unfortunate, I cannot do anything about it.
First Edit
One time after our classes was cancelled, I connect to a piso wifi and decide to remove an vandalism I found on Kalinga province‘s wikipedia page. (here) I edit it as an IP.
I decide to create an account and my first ever edit on this account was on Urdaneta, Pangasinan on March 22, 2024 (same day) (here)
First 500 edits
I found myself editing Wikipedia nearly daily ever since. I started editing episode tables for animes. I participate on improving and expanding 2024 Taiwan earthquake. I even created some pages myself (such as N56 highway (Philippines) and the Dagupan–Urdaneta Road).
