Talk
Hey @Bamyers99, I want to talk on a minor problems like i not know about other search results maintain by your @InceptionBot but i don’t understand why the bot is adding things to User:AlexNewArtBot/AstroSearchResult that are by far not related to astronomy by any means at all like List of wars involving Iran (before 1979), etc, If the thing came from like Spaceflight or similar related things that are related and linked to astronomy, that can be understandable but i don’t think it’s great to add things that are purely non astronomy related, where there is no link whatsoever like war, etc. Requesting you to solve this problem as quick as possible. - @Abdullah1099: The Match log details how articles were scored for inclusion in the results. There are almost 200 rules for matching articles. —Bamyers99 (talk) 18:45, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- I understand but is there no way to improve your bot, So that those topics like war, etc should not be added in future to Astro search results Abdullah1099 (talk) 03:30, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Abdullah1099: Astrological objects are named after ancient/mythological people/places. If those rules are removed, then you risk missing new astronomy articles with those names. —Bamyers99 (talk) 12:33, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- I know they are important but i talking but i mean is there any link of topic like war or similar topic on astronomy. I only meant to improve and strict the article selection process. So that in future incidents don’t. But as of now it is not a big problem. So, If unchanged it doesn’t posess any problem Abdullah1099 (talk) 15:53, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

AlexNewArtBot not running?
For the first time, in my experience of many years, your daily reports on new articles, including User:AlexNewArtBot/WomeninredSearchResult, have not run. The WIR search last reported on 2026-04-15 20:30 (UTC). I hope there’ll be a quick resolution and the reports will run again shortly. Oronsay (talk) 19:51, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
- I just noticed this as well. This is the InceptionBot that has stopped running as of April 15. the Stefen 𝕋ower 21:29, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Oronsay and StefenTower: Thanks for the reports. It was running in slow-motion on Wikimedia tools computer, taking an hour to process just one project! I restarted it with the same result. I am now running it on my own computer. It will take longer than normal as it has 2 days of new articles to process. —Bamyers99 (talk) 22:31, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for finding a solution. I see that the Australia one has updated. It will give me plenty to do as other reports are generated. Oronsay (talk) 23:24, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
