You are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:07, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, I see, thanks :). But there is a problem, I’ve been dealing with several clinical issues for some time, so I can’t really do much for this. Again, thank you for your invitation. I hope I can be back on Wikipedia very soon. All the best, Jako96 (talk) 17:16, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
Removing taxonomy templates
Hi, I’ve pointed out to you before that you should not move taxonomy templates to Category:Unnecessary taxonomy templates before checking that they have no uses. Two you moved recently were in the hierarchy called from Raphopoda. Peter coxhead (talk) 06:20, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
- I’ve now decided that I’ll no longer move ANY templates to that category, almost, at least. Jako96 (talk) 07:33, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
- Well, no, that’s not the right response, I think – I’m very much in favour of keeping taxonomy up-to-date and you do good work on it. It’s just a question of remembering to use “What links here” to check that a taxonomy template has no uses before moving to the unnecessary category, and then fixing any linked taxonomy templates/articles. - Thank you! I meant that I would still update the taxonomy, but rarely delete those unnecessary templates. Jako96 (talk) 10:41, 2 May 2026 (UTC)

Subgenus taxonomy templates
Wikipedia:Automated_taxobox_system/taxonomy_templates#Title_conventions says: “For animal (ICZN) subgenus names, the title should be of the form “Template:Taxonomy/Genus (Subgenus)”. For example, Template:Taxonomy/Mus (Coelomys).”
While I’m sure there are some subgenus templates that are not named that way, the majority are, and you made things less consistent. Plantdrew (talk) Plantdrew 21:14, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- I see. Then, when people create such templates with names that are against the rules, other editors should try to move them and warn the creators. It’s not like this is a whole mistake of mine, it was a natural result of other editors paying low attention to taxonomy templates. Jako96 (talk) 21:39, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
