Resource Request
How to use this page
Making a request
Before asking volunteers to look for your source, try finding it yourself with the tools at your disposal.
In particular, eligible editors can use the Wikipedia Library, which gives access to content provided by numerous academic publishers.

Warning: for legal reasons, we must note that the Resource Exchange cannot fix any medical problems. But it can fix references.
- Though we would prefer you to ask for a specific journal, article or work, we will accept open-ended questions. You can ask for all kinds of sources here, either on this page or by writing directly to an active user.
- Provide as much detail as possible: a full citation with author, title, publisher, date and identifiers like DOI, ISBN, ISSN, PMID, OCLC, etc. Indicate which article you need this for.
- Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot send you full book/thesis copies. Narrow down your request to a specific chapter or page(s).
- Since we cannot post original copyrighted material online, we will most likely send it by email. Make sure you have specified an email address in your preferences before asking.
- Add the {{Resolved}} template when your request is completed.
- Filled requests are archived. Requests unfilled after three months will also be archived.
What to try next
If you are unable to obtain what you need here, you may be able to get it via the WMF resource support pilot.
Fulfilling a request
- Anyone may offer advice and fulfill requests, in full or in part. When fulfilling a part of a request, tell others which one so that they don’t have to do the same work.
- Notify (mention) the requester using
{{u|REQUESTER_USERNAME}}. - You can:
- post a URL address ( https://… ) if the material is available online and the webpage does not infringe others’ copyrights
- share scans of pages or documents using a file-sharing service if legal
Copyright tips
|
|---|
|
- upload out of copyright works to Wikimedia Commons or Wikisource (make sure your institution’s policies allow this). Check Wikimedia Commons’s guide for copyright in each jurisdiction if in doubt.
- email a link or plain text to the requester using the Special:EmailUser (“wikimail”) feature. Attachments are not supported, so you need the user’s email address to send them. You can configure your wikimail in Special:Preferences.

Books about folktales of Southeast Asian peoples (Tai Khamti and Shan)
The following books were written by academics of the peoples themselves.
1 * Sai Aung Htun Dr. (2020). Taikhamti: Legends & Law. Shan Literature and Culture Association. pp. 1-6 (introduction), 75-80 (tale 16. “The Python”), 143-156 (tale nr. 29 “The Young Man from the Emerald Mollusc (Sao Hoi Seng)”).
The introduction is for Khamti people as a possible source, tale 16 for “The Story of the Hamadryad” (girl marries python).
The alternate for tale 29 indicates it is a Khamti variant of Sang Thong (aka. “The Prince in a Golden Conch [Shell]”), because “Hǒi-sang” was the name used by J. Leyden and Captain James Low to indicate the existence of the tale in the early 19th century.
2. * Pu Loi Hom; Pu Loi Tun, eds. (2014). Shan Legends. Zaw Oo. pp. 109-121 (text for tale nr. 14, “The Story of Ai Maung of the Tousled Hair (White Shell-fish, the future Buddha)”, 300-308 (text for tale nr. 48, “The Story of a Fairy and a Prince”), 314-317 (text for tale nr. 51, “The Youth of Emerald Mollusc”).
The Story of a Fairy and a Prince is homonymous with a tale first collected from a Shan source and published by Mrs. Leslie Milne in 1910. Milne’s tale is a Shan variant of ATU 408 and the Indian “The Belbati Princess“. Would like to see if it another variant or a reedition of Milne’s text. In the latter’s case, will add it as a reprint and later to separate the Shan tales.
“White Shell-fish” has a parallel title to a Shan tale published by B. R. Pearne in Journal of the Burma Research Society with the title “The Silver Oyster”, which has been pointed as a Shan variant of Sang Thong. Possibly another variant of the Shan tale.
“The Youth of Emerald Mollusc” has a similar title with the Khamti “The Young Man from the Emerald Mollusc (Sao Hoi Seng)”.

Sent the second request. – Doc Taxon • Talk • 13:45, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. Got it. Thank you. Yes. One was a reedition, the other was a version of the tale of “Sang Thong”/Silver Oyster in a Shan tale. KHR FolkMyth (talk) 15:23, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- @KHR FolkMyth: I’m having a hard time finding information about the first book. It is not the same publisher, but are you potentially referencing this? If not, could you supply a link to an index like Google Books or WorldCat? Thanks. Averageuntitleduser (talk) 14:07, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Well, I found a link to the National Library of Myanmar, indivating that the book exists somewhere. KHR FolkMyth (talk) 15:28, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- KHR FolkMyth, available copies of the books seem to be few and far between. There is the one that you found in the National Library of Myanmar, and the Department of Ethnical Literature & Culture-Kachin State also appears to have a copy, given the Facebook post here. Two bookshops also appear to have it: one here, for $3.5, and one here (although that post is from 2020). The first of those also includes a link to the book’s table of contents, acknowledgements, introduction, and foreword. Note that the author died some months after publication, so reaching out to him is not an option. The reality is that the book is going to be difficult to borrow from a library. The best option would likely be to reach out to some of the parties above, and see if they would be willing to provide a scan of a few pages. (The bookshops may be less likely to do that, but while it’s less than ideal to have to pay for sources used on Wikipedia, the cost before shipping does appear to be nominal—maybe they’d provide a scan so you wouldn’t have to also pay for shipping?) —Usernameunique (talk) 18:27, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the feedback. I don’t know. Is it an alternative? KHR FolkMyth (talk) 20:30, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- No problem, KHR FolkMyth. Is what an alternative? —Usernameunique (talk) 20:38, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- To get in touch with the author/publisher. KHR FolkMyth (talk) 20:47, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Getting in touch with an author or publisher is frequently a good way to get a copy of an article, especially when it’s a niche piece; mentioning that it’s for Wikipedia is also sometimes helpful, because it (a) shows it’s for research (a reason for which authors, themselves researchers, frequently can relate), and (b) implies that the article might become more widely cited. Particularly here, when you’re looking for a book that we can’t find a trace of outside of Myanmar, I would try every available avenue. —Usernameunique (talk) 03:03, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- KHR FolkMyth, WP:Resource support pilot might also be an option. —Usernameunique (talk) 07:47, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
- KHR FolkMyth, have you thought about the above idea? The program is looking for more requests. —Usernameunique (talk) 23:32, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
- I did think about it, but it is a new venue for me, so I’m not too sure how to make this new request via the “Resource support pilot”. How can I proceed? KHR FolkMyth (talk) 23:48, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
- I haven’t made a request there either yet, but this seems well in scope: a painfully obscure work that will be difficult to obtain without purchasing, and that has therefore been languishing on this page for seven months. You can enter your username at the top of the page here, then fill out the form. You’ll need to link to this discussion (which explains the difficulty of obtaining the book), give the articles you plan to use the book for, and provide the link of Myanmar Bookshop (above), from which the book can be bought. Let me know how it goes! —Usernameunique (talk) 23:55, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
- KHR FolkMyth, have you decided whether to go with the above approach? I think that is your best bet. —Usernameunique (talk) 02:17, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- Well, who will provide the funds for purchasing the book? I’ve been mulling over the question before giving a more definitive answer, since I’m trying to expand the scope of Asian and African topics. KHR FolkMyth (talk) 14:24, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

- @Kepler-1229b I see some editions in Anna’s Archive, a bit older, however. The newest I see in my quick search is 16th from 2009 Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:52, 29 January 2026 (UTC)

First Fruits
Hey folks, this is a tough one. I’m working on a sandbox article for the Huntington Hartford Foundation. There’s an important source from the Foundation that was published in 1956. It is more commonly known as First Fruits, and is held by major libraries under that name, but two of them have it under Six Years of Accomplishments so I included that alternate OCLC just in case. UCLA, Harvard, and NYPL all have copies. Thanks for any help. If you have access to the work, let me know as I have a few questions, mostly having to do with the history of the property and the names of all of the fellows, as they are very hard to find. There were supposedly 400 famous artists hosted by the Foundation, but the sources are almost non-existent. One of the reasons this is important to me is because while Huntington Hartford was a very flawed man and had some very strange, eccentric ideas, and caused a lot of problems in the art world at the time, there are recent sources that attribute some measure of historical interest to his indirect promotion of the concept of contemporary art over the term “modern” (he wasn’t the first, but he helped contribute to this debate), and the idea that his art colony, for all its wasted money, produced some measure of success, results which have been lost to time and are left to others to discover. This is also a very California-oriented topic unique to that state’s history, and there’s a dearth of coverage about it. For comparison, we have Druid Heights in NoCal, Moy Mell in SLO, and Rustic Canyon, this topic, which has not been covered on Wikipedia in any depth. Thanks. Article by Denver Webb from Issue 31 of The Coelacanth (1993)
- Webb, Denver (1993). “Paul Xiniwe – Pioneer Black Businessman in the Cape Colony”. The Coelacanth. 31 (2): 44-51. ISSN 0530-0231. OCLC 5878549875.
I’m currently working on Paul Xiniwe, and one of the references on the page cites this journal. I’m hoping that the full article will have more information on Xiniwe and his life that I can use in the article.
There’s a couple journals named “The Coelacanth”, but from context I’m assuming it’s this one from Rhodes University in South Africa. Their online archives only have 3 issues, none of which are the one with Webb’s article.
Does anyone know where I can find this article? I’ve tried looking in TWL, but it doesn’t seem to have this particular journal (unless I’m missing something, as searching for “The Coelacanth” mostly brings up articles about the fish).
Thanks in advance. Tymewalk (talk) 02:34, 29 January 2026 (UTC)

Access to Italian and Griko folktales of the Animal as Bridegroom cycle
1 *
Section “AT 433 Il figlio serpente” Aprile, Renato (2000). Indice delle fiabe popolari italiane di magia (in Italian). Vol. 2. Leo S. Olschki. p. 807-810. ISBN 9788822248558.

These two for King Lindworm and The Girl with Two Husbands. “O re serpente” is a Griko tale, which, per Renato Aprile’s summary in his Index, has the same double narrative of the Greek tales: heroine marries snake prince and disenchants him, revives dead man and marries him, chooses between first and second husbands.
3 * Il ria rekko or Il re porco Paolo Stomeo, ed. (1980). Racconti greci inediti di Sternatìa (in Griko and Italian). La nuova Ellade. pp. 24-33 (tale nr. 3).{{cite book}}: CS1 maint: unrecognized language (link)
For King Crin, Italian tale with the enchanted husband in pig form; geographically, it is located in Italy; ethnographically, it is a tale told by the Griko people of South Italy.

For The Golden Root. “Tuone e Lampe” is the name of the heroine’s husband, meaning Thunder and Lightning.
5 * Petrosinella Paolo Stomeo, ed. (1980). Racconti greci inediti di Sternatìa (in Griko and Italian). La nuova Ellade. pp. 288-303 (tale nr. 27).{{cite book}}: CS1 maint: unrecognized language (link)

For Prunella (fairy tale). In Italian variants, per Renato Aprile’s Index, the heroine’s name, Petrosinella, can indicate it to be a variant of Rapunzel/Basile’s Petrosinella (ATU 310) or AaTh 428, “The Wolf”.
EDIT: Added a sixth tale.

Materials relating to the clean hands doctrine in various jurisdictions
Need the definition of “clean hands” or “clean hands doctrine” or “unclean hands doctrine” or similar.
This is a guide to access it Words and Phrases no longer needed.
ETA: If anyone can get of the newest edition of American Law Reports and find info about the same doctrine, it would be great.
Need access to sections 111 to 113 of that source, as well as this page. If you can find it in other parts of Halsbury’s Laws of England I’d be grateful. Requires a LexisNexis subscription.

I deeply appreciate the newest Black’s Law Dictionary entry, I only had the 9th edition available.
Still waiting for American Law Reports if available. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 20:52, 25 February 2026 (UTC)- Szmenderowiecki, for the ALR, there’s the fairly well-organized public-domain 1919 version, and then it’s just been updated over the years with a “cumulative supplement” with headnotes from bazillions of cases that mention clean hands with little or no topical organization. I don’t think you’d find it very useful, and it runs to north of 200 pages, which is more than I can plausibly claim fair use on. The more recent ALRs focus on much narrower topics (e.g., “Unclean Hands as Bar to Equitable Relief in Domestic Relations Proceeding or Dispute”). Full text of the book
Hello, is it possible to find a copyable full text of the book [12] For [13]
Thanks, Эрик Джон Старк (talk) 15:01, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
- Now this one is really strange. The ISBN 978-1-4457-7262-2 cannot be found in any library catalogue around the world, the publisher “Éditions Desnoel” is clearly not the same as the renowned Éditions Denoël, although it seems to be meant to give that impression. Google books and amazon indicate that the book has rather been published with the vanity press lulu.com. The author’s homepage https://www.jean-massicot.fr is dead. From my point of view, this book is by no means to be taken seriously as a reliable source of whatever. FordPrefect42 (talk) 21:17, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
- Эрик Джон Старк, I agree with FordPrefect42. Firstly, it’s in no library that I can access. I’m not a historian though so I asked some colleagues (a historian and a specialist research librarian) who’re much better at source finding than I am, and they said they’d not be able to access it either. Secondly, FordPrefect is bang on regarding the printing via vanity press and subsequent misleading references to “Éditions Desnoel”, although that seems remarkably common. Thirdly, the first 343 pages are available on Google books and the same colleagues I mentioned earlier gave the short and sweet assessment that: “It might be alright, but it could totally be a load of bollocks printed by some bloke in his shed”. In short, no it’s not been possible to find a copyable full text of the book, and even if you did I’d treat it with due caution. Sorry I couldn’t be more help. This is another publication that would help with my work on the article Poecilia velifera. I am mainly interested in the page that mentions the orange color (naranja), which Google Books says exists but it will not show it to me or even tell me which page that is. I suspect that the entire bit about P. velifera is only a few pages long, so perhaps more than one page would not be too much either? 🙂

This is an article that I have been meaning to expand but I can’t find scholars discussing it despite being written by a very famous author (Fullmetal Alchemist) and being based on very old novel with the same title. I think it started serialization around a decade ago and is still ongoing. I keep finding the characters discussing religion, genders, tabboos, etc. but I couldn’t find one big scholar that might help. If anybody finds something I would appreciate it.Tintor2 (talk) 19:10, 10 April 2026 (UTC)

Status report on the disposal of radioactive wastes published by Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Hi, does anyone have access to this report and can tell me on what page it recommends geological disposal as the solution for radioactive waste, please? There are apparently copies at Washington State, UC Berkeley, and Lawrence Berkeley.

Pavel Roman Memorial – Olomouc, Czech Republic
The Pavel Roman Memorial (Memoriál Pavla Romana) is an ice dance competition held in Olomouc, Czech Republic. I am looking for results and sources for the following installments:
- October 13–15, 1996
- 2000
- 2001
Dates that I have given are verified dates when the events took place; otherwise, they were likely held in October or November of those years. Any help would be appreciated!

“Erach Rediscovered: Coins, Inscriptions, Seals and Sealings”, by Om Prakash Lal Srivastava

This is a weird request because I know what I’m looking for in the book, but I have no idea where it is. It’s for the article on Erich, Uttar Pradesh, which currently claims in the lead section, without attribution, that the town was called “Erikachha” or “Erakachha” in ancient times. Srivastava’s book is basically about the archaeology of the site, and it says on its back cover that it was an ancient city-state called Erakachha. So basically what I’m looking for is whichever pages contain the statement that Erich=Erakachha, along with whatever evidence he’s basing it on (I’m assuming it’s inscriptions on coins, based on the back cover). I don’t know what pages these things would be on, though.
They apparently have a copy of this book at the New York Public Library (basically the only place I could find it), so maybe someone in that area could get access and find out which pages this is on? Alternatively, if someone in India happens to have access to a copy of the book, then that could also work, although I can’t find any information online about libraries in India that have it.
This is probably a lot to ask, so I apologize in advance.

- Hi صلاح الأوكراني, the National Library of Australia will send a full digital copy as it’s out of copyright, but they want to charge ~$40 for the privilege. I’m seeing if I can access it via inter-library loan instead. If anyone else has access then happy days, otherwise I’ll let you know how I go. Jack Frost (talk) 03:30, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

- Rao, P. Raghunadha (1994). History and Culture of Andhra Pradesh from the Earliest Times to the Present Day. Sterling. p. 82. ISBN 8120717198. OCLC 46680300.
An editor insists that page 82 of this book supports the map added by them to the article Reddi Kingdom: File:Reddi KIngdom at its peakl.jpg. I would like someone to verify that, since the map seems to exaggerate the borders. If there is no map on page 82, can you also check if there is any such map in the chapter “Reddi Kingdoms” (pages 82-91)?
Note: There are several reprints of this book with different years, but I believe the content is exactly same, down to the page numbers.

For Venus and Lulu. I need readable scans/photos of just pages 141-142, which contain a review of this TV movie, under the title La Vénus à Lulu. I’ve already accessed some of it through Google Books’ preview snippets, but can’t read all of it there. The book should be available at multiple libraries including Bibliothèque du cinéma François Truffaut and various university libraries in France, Switzerland, Germany, and the UK. Please ping me if you respond, so I don’t miss it.
